Dallas County — what you need to know

⚠️ Dallas County requires the 2026 Standing Order attached to every new divorce and SAPCR petition at filing. It is automatic — not optional. Your wizard filing package includes it.

The Standing Order takes effect the moment you file and applies to both parties before your spouse is served. It prohibits removing children from Texas, dissipating marital assets, harassment, and damaging or hiding property.

Mediation is strongly encouraged and often ordered in contested cases before temporary orders hearings. Individual court coordinators set docketing — check with your assigned court.
