Parties & Circuit
Your information and the circuit where you're filing. You can file in the circuit where you live, where the respondent lives, or where the violence occurred.
SharpeSystem helps you organize information for Florida court forms — not a lawyer, not legal advice. Florida Supreme Court approved forms are available free at flcourts.gov.
Florida law note: Florida domestic violence injunctions are governed by Fla. Stat. § 741.30. You can file at any circuit courthouse clerk's office during business hours. A judge or magistrate will review your petition the same day. If there is immediate danger, a Temporary Ex Parte Injunction can be issued the same day without the other party present. A hearing on a permanent injunction (up to 1 year, extendable) is set within 15 days.
Where are you filing?
Is it safe to list your address on the petition?
If the respondent knowing your address would put you at risk, select confidential. Your address will be kept sealed from the respondent but the court will still have it.
