What Oklahoma requires — before you file
1
6-month residency. You or your spouse must have lived in Oklahoma for at least 6 months before filing for divorce.
2
10-day waiting period. Oklahoma requires at least 10 days from the date of filing before a divorce decree can enter in uncontested cases (90 days if children are involved).
3
Financial disclosure required. Both parties must exchange financial information.
Oklahoma uses 'legal custody' and 'physical custody.' Oklahoma is one of the few states with a very short minimum waiting period for uncontested divorces without children.
