2 No mandatory waiting period. New Jersey has no statutory waiting period for uncontested divorce.
3 Case information statement required. Both parties must file a Case Information Statement disclosing all financial information.
4 Early Settlement Panel. Most New Jersey divorces go through an Early Settlement Panel — attorneys who provide non-binding recommendations to help settle cases.
New Jersey uses 'legal custody' and 'residential custody.' The court uses 'parenting time' not visitation.
