What New Hampshire requires — before you file
1
1-year residency (with exceptions). Generally you or your spouse must have lived in New Hampshire for at least 1 year before filing, with exceptions for when the cause of divorce occurred in the state.
2
No mandatory waiting period for uncontested cases. New Hampshire does not impose a waiting period for uncontested divorce.
3
Financial disclosure required. Both parties must file financial affidavits.
New Hampshire uses 'legal custody' and 'residential responsibility' (instead of physical custody), and 'parenting schedule' instead of visitation.
