What Kansas requires — before you file

60-day residency. You or your spouse must have lived in Kansas for at least 60 days before filing for divorce.

60-day waiting period. Kansas requires at least 60 days from the date of service before a divorce decree can enter.

Financial disclosure required. Both parties must exchange financial information.
Kansas uses 'legal custody' and 'residency' (instead of physical custody). Kansas is a no-fault divorce state.
