Request for Child Abduction Prevention Orders
Ask the court to restrict travel or issue passport safeguards when there is a risk of international child abduction.
What this form does
FL-312 is used when there is a credible risk that the other parent might flee the country with your children. You can ask the court to surrender passports, prohibit international travel, and require posting of a bond. Courts take these requests seriously when there are ties to another country or a history of threats to leave.
Who needs to file it
A parent with credible fear that the other parent may abduct the child internationally.
When to file it
File with an RFO or ex parte application when there is an immediate risk.
What happens after you file
If granted, travel restrictions are put in place and law enforcement is notified.
