1351 NW 12th Street, Miami, FL 33125
Filing fees: $400–$450 typical for dissolution. Domestic violence injunctions are free. Fee waiver available if income qualifies.
Miami-Dade has a dedicated domestic violence docket and a strong self-help center at the courthouse. E-filing available at myflcourtaccess.com.
Dissolution of Marriage
Florida requires a 20-day minimum waiting period before a final judgment can enter. All cases with minor children require a Parenting Plan and Financial Affidavit.
Injunctions for Protection
Walk into the clerk's office at the Gerstein Building. A judge reviews your petition the same day and can issue a temporary injunction without a hearing.
Children, Parenting & Time-Sharing
Florida uses time-sharing instead of visitation and parental responsibility instead of custody. Every case with minor children requires a court-approved Parenting Plan.
Support & Financial Disclosure
Financial Affidavits are mandatory in all cases involving support or property. Short form for income under $50,000; long form for $50,000 or more.
