The 11th Circuit is Miami-Dade County only — one of the largest family court systems in the United States. All family law matters are handled at the Gerstein Justice Building.

Miami-Dade has a dedicated Family Court Self-Help Center at the Gerstein Building. Walk-in assistance available Monday–Friday. Staff cannot give legal advice.

Miami-Dade has a dedicated domestic violence docket. Injunction for Protection filings are processed the same day — walk in to the clerk's office at the Gerstein Building.

Florida requires a mandatory 20-day waiting period after serving your spouse before a final divorce judgment can enter. All cases with minor children require a Parenting Plan (Form 12.995) and Financial Affidavit (Form 12.902).
