1 180-day residency. You or your spouse must have lived in Alaska for at least 180 days before filing for divorce.
2 No mandatory waiting period. Alaska has no statutory waiting period for uncontested divorce.
3 Financial disclosure required. Both parties must exchange financial information covering income, assets, and debts.
Alaska uses 'legal custody' and 'physical custody.' The court strongly encourages shared custody arrangements when both parents are fit and willing.
